They are speeding up trains, introducing new routes. What else can we expect from the new schedule?

From December 8, a new train schedule for Russian Railways will be introduced. It is calculated until December 2020. The changes are positive for passengers: new routes will appear, many trains will be "accelerated" and more daytime trains will be added. Let's analyze the main changes.

Let's start with long-distance trains, their number increases by 3%, which will amount to about 583 pairs (round trip) per day. The number of suburban trains will increase by 188 pairs. It is also planned to "accelerate" about a third of all trains. Thus, on many routes, the travel time will be reduced on average from half an hour to 3.5 hours. This will allow you to add an additional pair in the schedule and save time for passengers on the way.

Trains of the "fast" and "high-speed" categories also received an additional place in the timetable. Their number has increased by 19 compared to the previous schedule. Daily express trains are expected to be replenished on eight routes in the form of 14 new trains. Also popular passenger destinations expect about 46 new trains. In addition, double-decker trains will travel on 13 routes, there were only 9 of them in the 2018/2019 schedule. For example, new double-decker trains from Moscow will go to Penza and Bryansk in December.

International passenger transportation will also remain in eleven countries of Europe and Asia, as well as in the CIS and Baltic countries. There are no changes in the schedule. Only three new routes will be added: Andijan, Ufa, Novorossiysk, Baku, Gomel, Novozybkov.

The number of "Swallows" is also increasing by 29 trains, which will amount to 189 trains. Of these, 434 pairs were formed. Which is 122 more than in the previous chart. The number of compositions «Peregrine Falcon» and «Allegro» remains unchanged.

In order to ensure movement in the new schedule, 1,244 train trains have been formed at Russian Railways (67 more trains compared to 2018/2019). Therefore, since December, pay attention to all the innovations on those routes that you use more often. Additional trains may be assigned, and new trains are expected soon.
