2020 was not an easy year, but despite this it brought positive developments. Last year, eight train stations were opened after reconstruction. Let's remember them and what significant changes have taken place.
The work carried out has made the stations of Ivanovo, Sharya, Tatarskaya, Chany, Sosnogorsk, Belinskaya, Petrozavodsk and Shuya technological and comfortable, and most importantly accessible to all passengers. Special attention was paid to the barrier-free environment and the adaptation of functional areas of railway stations for people with limited mobility. In particular, ramps are installed, rest rooms and a bathroom are equipped. In addition, there was a tactile navigation system using Braille, a portable induction system for the hard of hearing, and lowered cash windows were installed.
Ivanovo
Ivanovo Railway Station is the largest passenger complex of the Northern Railway and the seventh largest in our country. As representatives of JSC "Russian Railways" noted that it was not an easy project, in addition to improving the transport infrastructure, it was important to preserve the historical appearance of the building. In particular, the decorative elements of the halls were restored, restoration work was carried out on the mosaic panel, ceiling pattern, decorative frieze and other elements of the station included in the list of cultural heritage objects. And the internal structure of the building has become more modern. The waiting room has comfortable benches equipped with sockets and USB connectors for charging mobile phones and other equipment. There was an underground pedestrian crossing to the platform, awnings were installed at the platforms, lighting and information boards. The technology of passenger service has also changed.
Sharya
The Sharya Railway Station in the Kostroma region is also a monument of cultural heritage. Therefore, most of the work was aimed at restoring its historical appearance, the internal and external premises of the station were repaired, including the interior with tiled floors, wooden walls, windows and doors. There are two waiting rooms, a buffet and a medical center for passengers. In addition, the platforms and the forecourt have been updated. The interior was modernized, modern equipment and security systems were installed.
Tatar
Comprehensive repairs have ended at the Tatarskaya station in the Novosibirsk region. The facade and interior of the station complex have been updated, its functionality has been improved. All engineering and technical systems have been upgraded. The renovated building now has a dynamic scoreboard with a schedule and terminals for buying tickets. The forecourt has been landscaped. Navigation has become more perfect. The waiting rooms have modern ergonomic seats made of natural oak, equipped with connectors for charging gadgets.
Vats
Thanks to the reconstruction of the Chany station in the Novosibirsk region, its area has increased by 585 square meters. Not only the facade was transformed, but also the interior was reconstructed. During the reconstruction of the station complex, the passenger platform was repaired, where a wagon navigation system was introduced, which will help passengers and greeters determine the place of the carriage stop in advance. Dynamic timetable displays and reference and information screens have appeared, as well as the area in front of the station has been landscaped.
Sosnogorsk
A railway station has been built in Sosnogorsk, Komi Republic, using modular construction technology. This technology allows you to build railway station complexes in any climatic zone in a short time. The station was commissioned one year ahead of schedule! The station space has been increased from 400 to 1000 square meters. The single-storey building is equipped with a comfortable waiting room, rest rooms for passengers with children and a cafe.
Belinskaya
The Belinskaya railway station of the Penza region of the Kuibyshev Railway has completely updated the appearance of the station. The platforms have been repaired and the territory near the station has been landscaped, where new art objects have appeared. The functionality of the building has been improved, modern charging seats and an air conditioning system have been installed, recreation rooms and children's corners have been updated, as well as museum expositions, the navigation system has been improved, and much more.
Petrozavodsk
As at many railway stations, it was important to preserve the historical appearance of the building of the Petrozavodsk station complex. Restoration work was carried out in the vestibule of the station building and on the balcony, marble cladding was restored on the central staircase, the roof truss system was repaired with the restoration of the rotunda and the replacement of the spire. The building built in 1955 has become more comfortable for passengers, thanks to the updated waiting room.
The old pedestrian bridge, built in 1959, also did not pass by the repair work. A new covered bridge (concourse) with glass facades has been installed in its place. It is adapted to all categories of citizens. By the way, last year the station celebrated its anniversary, so its reconstruction was a special event.
Shuya
Major repairs were carried out at the Shuya station of the Ivanovo region. To preserve the historical appearance of the building, the central part of the facade was partially painted in its original colors. And also recreated the clock tower and spire. The square at the train station has also been transformed, where parking spaces have been arranged. The platform has been repaired, as well as all the internal premises of the station, including the waiting room. The station is a local landmark, so a historical exhibition was opened in the exhibition hall, to which the local museum made its efforts. Everyone will be able to learn more about the station, the railway and the history of the Shuisko-Ivanovskaya line.
It's nice that during the reconstruction they took care of the preservation of historical buildings, adapting modern technologies and amenities for them. Now these eight station complexes have become comfortable and are waiting for new passengers at their stations.
