RAILWAY NEWS FOR FEBRUARY 2022

Yakutia Railways is updating its fleet of passenger cars. Over the past year, one compartment and a reserved seat car, as well as 3 dining cars were added to those already in operation. The total number of wagons is now 40 pieces. This year, 2 more passenger cars will be added to them. And 7 cars will be sent for major repairs. Transportation will become more comfortable, because during the repair the cars will be equipped with aluminum-plastic windows, sockets and toilets. The interior will be completely updated. The new cars will be used on the Nizhny Bestyakh-Vladivostok route. The schedule of its movement will soon be agreed with JSC "Russian Railways".

Due to infrastructure works, the sale of travel documents for some trains is closed. The restrictions affected the routes Moscow – Simferopol, Moscow – Sevastopol/Yevpatoria, Moscow – Michurinsk. The start of sales will be announced additionally.

From March 5, the "Silver Route" returns. It will connect several ancient Russian cities with one message. Travelers will be able to visit Moscow, Pskov, Veliky Novgorod, Rybinsk, Yaroslavl. The trip in the cars of the SV, compartment and reserved seats will be comfortable and interesting. In each car there is a shower, an environmentally friendly toilet complex. There is a bar car and a restaurant car for passengers. The tourist train is scheduled to run until April 30 inclusive. The timetable for May will be announced later. Passengers can plan a trip on their own or purchase city tours from a guide. It is possible to purchase a package tour, including travel, excursions and meals.

OA «AK «Railway » reports an increase in the volume of cargo transportation by 1.5 times in the first month of 2022. Coal transportation has grown the most in quantitative terms. Transportation rates have also increased. This growth is 5.8% compared to the same period last year. 

On February 4, at 08:36, a freight train following the Tchaikovsky – Grigorievskaya route derailed. There were 18 wagons in the train. There are no casualties, the ecology of the area is not violated. In this section, due to the work to eliminate the consequences of the derailment, the movement of trains is limited. Some trains may be cancelled or delayed. The headquarters for the elimination of the consequences of the descent is working to ensure that the movement returns to the usual schedule in the near future. The growth of indicators is associated with the optimization of the logistics system and the opening of a non-stop service to Vladivostok. 

In the mobile application of the Russian Railways, passengers have been added the opportunity to purchase non-cash tickets to beneficiaries. The updated service has been operating since February 9. The procedure for purchasing tickets for regional beneficiaries has also been simplified. To use the service, you need to pass verification at the checkout once a year. The service is available on the territory of 45 subjects of the Russian Federation.

Yakut people like to travel to Vladivostok on a non-stop route. From June 15, 2021 to February 2022, 45.9 thousand passengers were transported from Nizhny Bestyakh to Vladivostok. Due to the growing popularity of the route, the carrier decided to increase the number of flights. Passengers travel comfortably. With its help, you can get from Sevastopol to St. Petersburg, Moscow, Omsk, Perm, Kislovodsk and in the opposite direction.

The container terminal in Yakutia "Markhinka" has started work. The first 11 containers will soon be issued to consignees in Yakutsk. The terminal is equipped with everything necessary for receiving and storing large-capacity containers. It is planned that the site will be especially popular in the summer, when there is no need to travel part of the way by ferry.

Passengers traveling from Crimea to the mainland of Russia can use bus services instead of canceled flights from 11 airports in the South of the Russian Federation.
