Moscow's railway connection with the South of Russia has been expanded. From February 25, passengers will be offered 5,000 additional seats. Carriages are being added to the scheduled trains, and the Swallow from the Imereti resort to Krasnodar has been doubled. The ticket price is fixed, it is not affected by excessive demand. Work on optimizing routes and adding trains continues.
Cargo turnover of OA «AK «railway » in February increased by an average of 30% compared to the same period last year. Cargo transportation of coal, petroleum products, food, hardware increased the most.

During the March holidays, increased demand for passenger transportation is expected. To meet this demand, the company appoints about 50 additional trains to the most popular destinations. Another 40 scheduled trains will be supplemented with new cars. The availability of available seats is monitored by employees daily. In case of an increase in demand, measures are taken promptly. On the peak dates of March 5 and 8, a number of additional tourist trains with comfortable carriages equipped with everything necessary for a comfortable journey will be appointed.
General Director of JSC "AK" Railway" V. V. Shimokhin congratulated all women on March 8. In connection with the extension of the flight restriction regime in the South and in the Center of Russia, an additional train "Tavria" No. 195/196 with the Moscow-Simferopol message has been appointed until March 15. Tickets are already on sale. Thus, from February 24 to March 15, it was possible to open an additional 19800 seats, which means that the originally planned capacity of trains was increased by 56%. From Crimea, trains run with 92% occupancy, in the opposite direction - 86%. Work on optimizing routes and timely replenishment of trains with new cars in case of an increase in demand is carried out daily.

Russian Railways Holding has announced the extension of the program of discounts on travel for schoolchildren during the summer holidays of 2022. Children aged 10-17 years inclusive will be able to take advantage of the benefit. The discount applies to shared and reserved cars, and is valid for the period of June 1 – August 31 only for trips within the Russian Federation. Discounts are also provided in the compartment cars, but they are less than 50%. The preferential rate is provided automatically when you enter information about children of the appropriate age. At the same time, it is necessary to choose the "Full" tariff. The benefits are valid only for travel, the use of bed linen is paid in full.
For the period January-February 2022, 30% more passengers were transported in the cars of JSC "AK"railway than in the same period last year. The most popular routes are from Nizhny Bestyakh to Tynda, Vladivostok, Blagoveshchensk, Irkutsk. Due to the increasing load, the holding decided to replenish the fleet of passenger cars and carry out major repairs of the existing ones. Thus, active preparations are underway for the launch of a new passenger train Nizhny Bestyakh - Vladivostok. The schedule of its movement will be agreed in the coming days.
Great news for fans of railway tours. On April 15 and 22, two round-trip flights Moscow- Rostov-on-Don – Elista – Moscow will be organized. The trip will take place in the format of a "train-hotel". Movement is carried out mainly at night, and during the day tourists have the opportunity to see the sights of cities. On the eve of the closure of the ice crossing, there is a rush demand for sending cargo to the republic. In this regard, the management of JSC "AK" Railway" held a visiting meeting with the participation of officials-representatives of various sectors of the economy, transport, entrepreneurship, tourism and others. It was stated that all obligations for the delivery of goods will be fulfilled before the closure of the ice crossing. The Nizhny Bestyakh station works smoothly even during peak load days. The last container trains will be received at the station on April 4-7, as indicated in the schedule.
Passenger traffic from Crimea and Sevastopol is not reduced, so the running of an additional train "Tavria" with the Moscow-Simferopol message will be extended until March 18. The issue of extending this route until the end of March is being worked out if air communication with Crimea is not restored. The trains consist mainly of reserved cars capable of accommodating the maximum number of passengers.
An additional train "Tavria" will carry passengers from Moscow to Simferopol and in the opposite direction until March 31. This decision was made due to the doubling of passenger traffic compared to the same period last year. Passengers will spend 32 hours on the way. Departure from Moscow at 14:50, from Simferopol at 20:00. The train consists mainly of reserved cars, which allow carrying the largest number of passengers in conditions of increased demand.
In order to increase the transport accessibility of the population, the Lastochka train will be launched in Bashkiria. From April 1, passengers will be able to cover the distance from Ufa to Priyutovo in 2 hours and 55 minutes. The ticket price will be 535 rubles. All federal benefits and discounts for students are valid. «Swallow» will replace the current suburban electric train EP2D.
From March 28, rail service on high-speed trains "Allegro" between Russia and Finland will be suspended. Unused travel documents can be returned at any ticket office in the territory of the state where the ticket was purchased. A full refund will be made without any deductions. The e-ticket can be returned through the same platform where it was purchased. The resumption of railway communication in this direction will be announced additionally.
During the May holidays, railway workers are preparing for an increased load, so additional trains in the amount of more than 400 units will run in the most popular directions. With an increase in demand for certain destinations, it is possible to add additional cars to scheduled trains. Peak load is expected for the periods of April 30 to May 3 and from May 7 to May 10. Special tourist trains of the "hotel on wheels" format will also be formed. Their schedule allows travelers to travel at night and take part in excursions and tourist programs during the day. There is a separate program "Ruskeala Express" for fans of retrotourism.
The Nizhny Bestyakh – Tynda train is supplemented with a non-stop train to Irkutsk. The innovations will start on April 1. Until April 15, until the ice crossing is closed, there is a transfer from the Yakutsk bus station. The transfer is paid separately, its cost is 500 rubles. The train fare from Nizhny Bestyakh station to Irkutsk, according to the tariff schedule, is 5660 rubles.
