To see Paris is the dream of many travelers. Everyone leaves their own opinion and impression about him. But we will tell you how to get there in this article. The most banal and simple – is through air communication. The cheapest way would be by bus, and the unusual way would be by train. The latter will be discussed. At the same time, along the way, the journey will take you to other equally interesting cities in Europe.

Russia carried out direct rail transportation to Paris from the XIX century until 1994. Despite the development of air traffic by the XXI century, interest in traveling by train from Moscow to the French capital has increased markedly. In 2007, the first non-stop car to Paris was launched, and already on 12.12.2011 a direct train "Moscow" Berlin "Paris" was sent on the first flight. This route remains the longest for Europe, its length is 3217 km.

This route has connections with 4 countries (Belarus, Poland, Germany, France) with 20 cities, including Minsk, Brest, Warsaw, Berlin, Strasbourg and Paris. Most stops last 5-10 minutes, but in Brest the train costs more than two hours, and in Warsaw and Berlin - more than an hour. The train in this direction runs once a week (Tuesday) in winter and 3 times a week in summer.

A ticket in a compartment for one passenger will cost at least 26 thousand rubles, for which 37,855 rubles will have to be prepared. The ticket price for a child from 4 to 12 years old will cost at least 13,000 rubles. (Please note that prices are subject to change).

There are discounts for passengers who are going to travel close to their date of birth (7 days before and after the birthday), for newlyweds (within one month after the wedding), for children 4-12 years old, the elderly (after 60 years), as well as boys and girls from 12 to 26 years old. Group tickets are also available, their cost differs from individual tickets by more than 100 euros per ticket. If tickets are returned 15-60 days before departure, the cost is refunded in full.

In order to reach the final destination, the train will take about 38 hours. According to the plan, he leaves the Belorussky railway station at 16:30, and arrives in the French capital at 9:16 in the morning.

Travelers can get to major stops in:

• 8 hours 16 minutes - to Minsk;

• 21 hours 14 minutes - to Berlin;

• 1 day 7 hours 30 minutes - to Frankfurt am Main;

• 1 day 11 hours 19 minutes - to Strasbourg.

It offers travelers double first-class and single-class luxury cars, quadruple - second-class.

Bed linen is included in the ticket price. First class and luxury passengers are provided with terry bathrobes and towels. There is air conditioning in each car, sinks and toilets are placed in the compartment, which are not prohibited to use even during stops.

Train passengers can purchase drinking water, tea, sweets, newspapers and magazines, souvenirs and related products from the conductor. It offers travelers a dining car with an extensive menu and drinks. Usually the conductor walks through the compartment and collects orders, and then delivers them to travelers, so the restaurant is rarely full. The menu is presented in Russian and English.

Passengers of the train can carry hand luggage free of charge if its total size (the sum of height, width and length) is not more than 200 cm, one side should not be more than 55 cm.

Hand luggage weight limit:

Sleeping cars for one passenger (VIP and I class) have free transportation of up to 100 kg of hand luggage per compartment.

Sleeping cars for two passengers (VIP and I class) have free transportation of up to 50 kg per person.

Sleeping cars (Class II and with seats) are available for free transportation up to 36 kg per adult and up to 15 kg for a child up to 12 years old.

Travelers have the right to take a small animal or bird with them to any class if all seats in the compartment are paid for. Pets are transported in cages, bags and other special carriers. Transportation of 1 cage or one dog is allowed per compartment. There is no need to pay an additional fee for the transportation of animals.

When going on a trip with children, consider the following:

• for a child under 4 years old, you can get a free children's ticket (does not include a separate seat);

children 5-10 years old should purchase a separate ticket (its price is lower than the standard one);

• if the child is 10 or more years old, the ticket is bought at the general fare;

a minor must have a passport (or a stamp in the parent's passport), a photo is required for children from 7 years old.

Documents and luggage are checked upon boarding the train and upon arrival on the territory of Europe, on the border between Belarus and Poland (Brest). Russians are stamped in the document. It is forbidden to get off the train during this long parking (2 hours 23 minutes). The second time the documents are checked already at the entrance to the territory of Poland. Travelers traveling on a flight from Moscow to Berlin need to apply for a Schengen visa.
