The railway station in Vladivostok welcomes all visitors with simple, but at the same time bright and picturesque architecture of the 18th and 19th centuries. Therefore, memorable excursions are often held here, during which tourists are filled with positive impressions and emotions. And if necessary, visitors can use a local toilet, a medical center and a rest room.
Station history
The construction of the railway station (the building itself) dates back to 1891, and was organized in parallel with the laying of railway tracks. It is interesting that the future Emperor Nicholas II was involved in this process, actively traveling at that time across the expanses of tsarist Russia.
At first it was a one-story building in the central part and two-story at the edges. But in 1912 it was slightly transformed, having expanded and made an add-on in the style of the now famous Yaroslavsky railway station located in Moscow. Therefore, tourists often compare both of these places, and, of course, they see similarities in many ways. The author of these remarkable changes was N. Konovalov, for which he was awarded a special award.
The floor deserves separate words, laid out with special refinement with clay slabs, which can be seen to this day. But the original painting of the ceiling lights, unfortunately, has not been preserved (neither in pictures nor in documents). However, in the mid-90s, after a major reconstruction, they literally received a "rebirth", becoming a source of pride for the city authorities and railway station employees, to the delight of all visitors.

Popular routes
It just so happened that Vladivostok is called the most "traveling" city in Russia. Moreover, trips are made not only by trains and commuter trains, but also by cars (even to the most remote corners of the country). So in which directions do tourism lovers most often book tickets? Below is the top cities to which Vladivostok residents travel most often:
- Ussuriysk is home to many seaside companies (branches) and offices (mainly headquarters) in this city. Buses to China also follow from here — the Chinese market is very popular. Therefore, Ussuriysk occupies a well-deserved first place in the top.
- Nakhodka is rightfully considered the southernmost city, which is located in the eastern part of Russia. In summer, tourists from all over Primorsky Krai flock here, often coming with a large group of friends or the whole family. Here you can sunbathe on the beach or wander around the local surroundings, enjoying their views, and just relax from the hustle and bustle of the city. Therefore, Nakhodka is often called a resort town. In winter, this place is also not empty — people go here on business or to visit relatives.
- Artem — the distance from Vladivostok to Artem is about 50 km, and this explains a lot — because of the proximity, tourists have chosen this town. You can get here quickly and cheaply (by the nearest train). Therefore, an honorable third place in the list.
- Spassk-Dalny — the population of this town does not exceed 40,000 people, there is a large cement plant here, and a lot of building materials are produced. Spassk-Dalny is located 240 km from Vladivostok. You can get here in about 4 hours by train.
- Arsenyev — this place is especially popular with fans of skiing, so tourists often come here in the cold season. The thing is that a few kilometers from the city there is a wonderful ski base where you can have fun with your family or friends. It will take several hours to get here.
And, of course, residents of Vladivostok no less often book tickets to Moscow, Khabarovsk, Novosibirsk, Novokuznetsk and other major cities of Russia.
